Built a local-first Apple Health dashboard for workouts, Activity Rings, sleep, energy, body measurements, daylight, steps, and vitals, with WidgetKit calendar widgets, range-based charts, workout history, and local snapshot storage for widget data. Available on the App Store, with its own site at ohmybody.ijustinz.com.
Team Leader · Visualizing Canada's industrial pollutant releases
Processed NPRI and Statistics Canada boundary data with R (tidyverse, sf, rgdal), then built an interactive multi-page visualization site with Leaflet maps, Plotly, D3.js and scrollytelling. Designed a narrative experience to make complex environmental risk data understandable to non-technical readers.
Privacy-focused iOS app + AI backend · Swift / TypeScript
Built a local-first spending tracker with fast expense entry, voice and receipt/screenshot capture, monthly budgets, category analytics, subscriptions, widgets, Siri Shortcuts, multi-currency reporting, and JSON import/export. AI spending insights and a conversational Ask Insights chat run on a custom Cloudflare Workers backend (Sign in with Apple + App Attest, D1), with on-device Apple Intelligence as a fallback. Currently in Public TestFlight testing.

Centralized AI backend for the ohmycoin iOS app. Sign in with Apple mints session tokens gated by full App Attest hardware attestation; the certificate chain is verified against Apple's pinned App Attest Root CA. A Hono router on Cloudflare Workers proxies expense-extraction calls to upstream AI models, with keys held server-side. D1 stores hashed sessions and metered usage.

Built a local-first task manager with multiple Kanban boards, a Notion-style editor for status, tags, working dates and due dates with Markdown checklists, per-task local reminders, board-wide search, multi-board JSON export/import, and an Upcoming Tasks home-screen widget. Built a Mac-native edition of the ohmytask app: a local-first task manager with multiple Kanban boards, a NavigationSplitView boards sidebar, inline-editable board headers, a Form-based task editor, tabbed settings, and JSON import/export, sharing its SwiftData backend with the iOS app. Currently in Public TestFlight testing.

Built a centralized AI backend for the ohmytask iOS app on Cloudflare Workers. Sign in with Apple and App Attest gate opaque session tokens; Hono routes relay AI chat turns while D1 stores hashed sessions, usage counters, and attestation keys. ohmytask data stays on device: the iOS app runs tool calls locally against SwiftData and the backend remains a stateless AI relay.
AI-assisted career-ops workspace · React / Express
Built a local-first career-ops workspace where the backend owns provider keys, runs AI-assisted scans and report jobs against local application data, streams server-sent logs back to the GUI, and connects those results to application tracking, pipeline editing, and script runners.

Built a Java backend with Maven and REST-style APIs against multiple official NASA data sources. Implemented real-time / manual fetching, collaborated on Monte Carlo simulation support, and defined API contracts for the frontend visualization layer.
Course Project · 20-year statistical analysis
Data collection and cleaning with Zillow Research housing datasets in R (tidyverse, dplyr, tidyr): missing value handling, inconsistency fixes, and time-series alignment across regions and housing types. Built statistical models over 20 years of price history and developed clear ggplot2 visualizations to communicate long-term trends and regional differences.
